PEMF: Pulse Electro Magnetic Field

What is PEMF?

Equine PEMF (Pulse Electro Magnetic Frequency), also known as High Energy Inductive Therapy (HEIT), with its many benefits has become a mainstream practice for horse trainers, equine vets, and riders. It is a safe, non-invasive treatment that offers various benefits to horses of all types, including racehorses, endurance horses, dressage and jump horses, reiners, cutters, athletes and trail horses alike. Our own planet emits a pulse electromagnetic field and recharges by lightening strikes around the globe throughout the day.

Not only is PEMF supported by scientific research in thousands of double blind studies, but it is also FDA-approved for treating many conditions in people.  PEMF works by stimulating cells and "exercising" them in a soothing way at the mitochondrial level, promoting natural cellular regeneration. The electromagnetic pulses revive cells that are not regenerating on their own, assisting them to bring in oxygen, recharge to their fullest, and remove toxins. The treatments have a cumulative effect, with multiple sessions benefiting the horse the most!

Why use PEMF for your horse?

With PEMF therapy, you can either target specific areas that need extra focus or treat larger areas of the body.

Some of the benefits of using PEMF therapy for equine include:

PEMF therapy is ideal for regular use to assist in relieving pain and recovery following events and competitions. A typical treatment lasts about 40-50 minutes varying on the horse, allowing another 20-30 minutes for Bodywork.

What does a PEMF Treatment Feel like?

The pulses are low-frequency and mimic the natural electro magnetic fields that are found throughout nature. These pulses alternate between engaging and relaxing the cells in the body.  The electromagnetic pulses used in PEMF therapy are designed to stimulate the cells in the body and promote natural cellular regeneration. This deep regeneration of the cells is painless and can provide a calming and soothing effect on horses, allowing them to release tension and relax.

Horses love getting PEMF therapy! During a session, the Pulse machine sends low-frequency pulses that stimulate the cells in their body and promotes natural cellular regeneration. The sensation of the pulse is like a mild tingle or vibration.

Horses find PEMF therapy enjoyable, and some even get so relaxed that they start dozing off. The best part is that the therapy is non-invasive, and can be used close to times of competition, and directly after.
